Inspiring American Patriotism since 1889

The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history and teaching American history to future generations.
Roger Williams and his guest, Chris Sabick, Executive Director of the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum, discuss the importance of the lake as an important strategic resource during the American Revolution. The pair take a close look at the Battle of Valcour Island and the Brigadier General who commanded the American forces, Benedict Arnold.
During the winter of 1775-1776, Boston bookseller, Henry Knox, was tasked by General Washington to retrieve captured British artillery from Fort Ticonderoga. Join host Jim Griffith and Dr. Matt Keagle, curator of Fort Ticonderoga, as they discuss Knox's incredible feat which was the catalyst that prompted General Howe to abandon Boston.
Between 1776-1778, Continental forces installed a massive chain boom across the Hudson River at West Point to prevent British warships from sailing upriver. Each link of this chain was 2 feet long and weighed 114 pounds! Join Jim Griffith and John Maples as they discuss how this engineering marvel played a role in America's quest for Independence.
Welcome to The Colorado Society
Sons of the American Revolution

As President of the Colorado Society, Sons of the American Revolution, I extend to you a personal thank you for visiting our website. Our society was formed in 1889 and is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and teaching American history to future generations.

We are a male lineage society whose members can trace lineal descent to a man or woman who provided service in the war of independence. We are active in the community with our support for Eagle Scouts, ROTC, and our classroom activities, including the “Patriot Chest” presentation.
Our society fosters camaraderie among its members. If you would like to join our society or have other questions we would love to hear from you. I remain, humbly,
Yours to serve,
